Junk Journal July 2024
As you might have seen in my ode to Messy May post, I fell in love with junk journal/art journal challenges this spring. When Meg Journals announced that her Junk Journal July was starting up again, I jumped at the chance to join in. This challenge, in collaboration with Get Messy Art, was similar to Messy May. It had daily prompts, each with a different artist teaching a mini lesson for the prompt. Unlike Messy May, though, I did every single prompt, most of them a double page spread in my smaller, handmade book. This was sometimes an extra challenge, as some of the prompts were more challenging to me. I even added on a few extra spreads at the end because I had a few extra pages in the book. If my August hadn’t been extra busy, I think I could have easily started up another book, and just tried to find an old prompt list from past challenges.
Here’s a flip through of the whole book, as well as some still images of spreads from the month.
