What's in my Bible Bag?

A few weeks ago, my friend Eve hosted our small group for a paint your own Bible bag night. It was SO fun! We had a huge assortment of paints and brushes, stencils and Pinterest at our fingertips to help spring inspiration. As artists, my friend Tori and I are often looked at with extra eyes when doing creative things as a group (this project, pottery night, etc). What was funny that night was that many of the other girls had set plans ready to go, and we sat there a little stumped at first. I had NO IDEA what to make. I dug through my Pinterest for any bits of inspiration, or scriptures I could use, or things to paint. I came up with very little. I could verses, but still, no where to start. So i just made a palette of paint colours I loved, and started. I laid down colours, focusing my beloved yellow ochre to the centre, and just kind of roughly framed it into the shape of the bag. Then I laid down my lettering, added some highlights and lots of little marks. When I was back home, I added some shimmers of gold ad those dashes of hot pink to bring back some of the brightness.

But what I love most of all about this bag is getting to use it! I packed it up the morning after I painted it for my morning group. Eve found the perfect totes, with a handle just long enough, the bag just big enough, and canvas sturdy enough to load up! My kind of bag. Check out my current Bible study gear I’m stuffing in this bag.
