Enoch Hosea Madryga
July 16, 2018
8lb 5oz
21”
12 hours of sharp labour pains while Enoch tried to engage his head.
21 hours of active labour at home, before giving in and heading to the hospital for an epidural, since I was still only 5cm.
A wild and frantic delivery, with some unplanned occurrences, Enoch finally made his appearance at 8:50pm, safe and sound.
Very tired dad. He had an extra long weekend of working night shoots, plus supporting mom through a very long labour, and then trying to sleep on a hospital cot, with a new baby!
So hairy! Should we have named him Esau?
Fresh after his first bath
Meeting Poppa Madryga
First (tired) family photo!
We were sent home with a UV belt, after high bilirubin levels, to help manage Enoch’s jaundice. He had to have it on at all times, even through feeding and sleeping.
Cozying up with mom.
First cuddle with Auntie Heather…we promise he likes her. We were so blessed to have the Evans be the first visitors at the hospital, bringing us lunch!
First cuddles with the cheetah cousin Jane! Future babysitter is all ready to hang out with Enoch.
Getting the magic touch from Uncle Joel
Cuddles with Grandee! She can to support us, and help take care of mom while she was in lots of pain (but healing well!)
Honey is curious and wanting to check out the new creature in the house…but she is still being cautious and keeping her distance.
First visit to Grandee’s house
We learned that for the first couple weeks, Enoch napped the best on his side.
Or naps with dad were always good too.
Dead soldier on Grandee’s lap.
Bed at Grandee’s is Auntie Ali’s dresser drawer!
Meeting Andrew and Eliza, Grandee’s neighbours
Dad’s favourite photo…Enoch barfing, but Mom looking nice! Haha
Little bug!
Hands are always by his head while he sleeps.
Day 10 weigh in…8lb 8oz!
First time in the wrap! Happily asleep.
The only photo we remembered to capture at the shower put on by Auntie Steph and Auntie Heather. We were so loved on!
