|"Listen for God's voice in everything you do and everywhere you go; He's the One who will keep you on track" Proverbs 3:6|
Do you do this? Do you listen for God in everything? I don't. I forget, and lean on my understanding, my knowledge, my experience. I forget, and think that I can't do it because I don't have the strength. I don't have the endurance. I don't have the patience. I don't have the focus. But then, I see something one day, like this verse that popped up on my phone's verse of the day, and remember. I remember that I'm not supposed to be the strong one, the knowledgable one, the patient one. And I'm not supposed to be. That's the point of God, isn't it? He's the Helper, the Healer, the Leader, and most importantly, the Forgiver. And if you remember to listen to Him, he will be all those things in your life. The part that I find challenging was being able to hear...anything. Then I figured that I wasn't being quiet enough. You see, God speaks in the whispers and the wind. If you don't slow down and silence yourself, chances are you won't be able to hear him.
So why do you try it? Quiet yourself, and listen, even if it's just for a little bit. You never know what kind of things you might hear Him say.
